Zohran Mamdani Pledges a 'New Era' for The Big Apple in Maiden Address
During an inauguration day in office, Zohran Mamdani pledged to “reimagine” the metropolis, declaring “a new era” and an audacious start to his tenure.
A Groundbreaking Figure
The 34-year-old political star, who just a year ago remained a relatively obscure state assemblyman, is the city's first mayor born in Africa. He additionally marked a milestone by being the first to be take the oath of office using the Qur'an.
